Items
- New method for calculating loot item drops has been implemented, resulting in a 9x+ speedup (!) measured for item drop calculations on benchmarks!
- An unoptimized algorithm for calculating random item drops that I wrote way back when Items were first introduced (~3 years ago) has been used for Loot Action and Fancy Crate calculations before this point
- You might notice that Loot Actions, claiming Pet items and opening Crates feels more responsive
- The new algorithm should resolve situations where players with extremely high multipliers could lock up the entire game for periods of time when they attempted to use Loot Actions
- I can now look toward re-introducing higher multipliers or adding more Boost sources if this new item drop calculation method proves to be fast enough to support them
- You might notice that Loot Actions, claiming Pet items and opening Crates feels more responsive
- Item drop distribution for every Action has been altered with the new algorithm (due to changes in how calculations are performed, along some manual adjustments for consistency)
- Some Items have had their base worth changed slightly
- Some Items now drop from different Loot Action sources
- Generated item fetch Quests have been updated to reflect this new item drop distribution (and should be more “accurate to reality” than the previous iteration)
